HomeWorld Extends Partnership with Sydney Thunder

Australia’s biggest display home organisation, HomeWorld, is proud to announce its extended partnership with Sydney Thunder, retaining its role as major sponsor for a further three years. HomeWorld’s partnership with Sydney Thunder will continue to see it support both the club’s men’s and women’s teams including shirt and stadium branding, as well as significant community based initiatives.

HomeWorld CEO, Phil Jones said, “We are thrilled to extend our partnership of both the men’s and women’s Sydney Thunder teams for another three years. The Big Bash is an exciting innovation in Australian cricket, and we’re pleased to be showing our support for a sport that delivers the very best for its loyal fans.” “Working with Sydney Thunder has been an incredibly rewarding experience for us, given that the club’s corporate and social values align so closely with our own. “We admire Sydney Thunder’s commitment to the community, and look forward to collaborating together on exciting initiatives in the upcoming season and with the Thunder Foundation,” said Jones.

With this news, Sydney Thunder have also announced the signing of Australian captain, Rachael Haynes on a two-year contract. Haynes was recently named captain of the Australian team for the upcoming Ashes series after only returning to international cricket in February following a three-and-a-half-year absence from the national setup.

Following the announcement, HomeWorld CEO, Phil Jones expressed his support, “We’re especially proud of the growth of women’s cricket, and our congratulations to Rachael on signing on for a further two years”.

Sydney Thunder General Manager Lee Germon congratulated Haynes on her recent appointment and was pleased to see her extend her Thunder contract. “I am very pleased to secure Rachael for a further two years in Thunder colours,” said Sydney Thunder General Manager Lee Germon. “Her experience, skill and leadership will be an integral aspect of our success as a squad that also includes many young exciting cricketers. “I would also like to extend my appreciation to HomeWorld for extending our partnership. “Our values align and together we have achieved significant growth and meaningful, effective community engagement. I look forward to achieving more success as our partnership continues to grow,” said Germon.

Sydney Thunder open their WBBL|03 season against the Melbourne Renegades on 9 December at North Sydney Oval while the KFC Big Bash league season will once again be launched at Spotless Stadium with Thunder taking on the Sydney Sixers in the Sydney Smash on 19 December.
